Playboy has once again ranked the nation’s top ten party schools and this year The University of Colorado at Boulder tops the list. According to the popular men’s magazine “reefer madness” and four local breweries put this school on the party map.

“CU-Boulder is home to reefer madness,” Playboy writes on their website (definitely NSFW). “ Not only does Boulder have 50 medical–marijuana dispensaries within its city limits, but every April nearly half the university’s 24,000-plus undergrads turn out for the annual 4/20 smoke-out on school grounds. Boulder is also a beer drinker’s paradise, with four breweries in town.”

Pennsylvania State University came in second place, while Arizona State University placed third. Playboy determines the rankings by evaluating Playboy-on-Campus Facebook pages, surveys, student interviews, the male to female ratio of each campus, the winning percentage of sports teams, vicinity to beaches and ski slopes, and the music scene.

So what do University of Colorado students think about the new honor?

"I think most people are excited and proud of ranking No. 1 party school and I don't think it will affect job opportunities at all," University of Colorado at Boulder senior Amanda Presley, 22, told ABC News. "The people that go here work really hard at school…we just like to party hard too."

School officials are less enthusiastic about the new ranking.

"It's a joke rating," said Bronson Hilliard, a spokesman for the university. "It's not meaningful, it doesn't measure anything important...it measures perception and it's unfortunate. The impression that our students here are doing nothing but partying here is overwrought.”
