Who doesn't love the movie Scarface? But would you love it all the same if elementary school kids were the actors? The "Scarface School Play" video went viral within minutes of being uploaded to YouTube and Break.com. Many parents were outraged, while most viewers were quite entertained! Controversy ensued! Was that really a school play? What kind of parents would allow this?
The director, Marc Klasfeld of Rockhard Films, finally came forward and explained that this video was an actual staged production. The kids are real Hollywood actors, ages 7 to 10, and were selected from a legitimate casting call. Even though Marc tries to defend his video, parents still feel it's exposing kids to drugs and violence, despite the popcorn substitute and the real machine guns replaced by toys.
Check out this clip of the video. What do you think? Shameless self promotion or just a film maker cleverly using his creativity?
