Marriage Proposal Left At Wrong Number

Imagine coming home to a marriage proposal left on your answering and it's not for you.  That’s what happened to mother of three, Diane Potts, 44.

The message said excitedly, “I love you so much, I love you with all my heart and I was going to ask you, don’t answer, obviously you can’t answer. But will you marry me? I love you; don’t ever forget that, yeah? Bye, Bye, Bye.”

The 90 second message was intended for a woman named Samantha.  She is the pregnant girlfriend of a British soldier serving in Afghanistan.

The unidentified soldier apparently misdialed the phone number he was trying to reach when he called home from the battlefield.

In his message he states that he cannot call for another month and will not be home for three months.  He talks of the loss of a friend who was “blown up” and repeats “I’m so sad”.  Sounds of war can be heard in the background of the message.

Diane Potts has released the message hoping this bitter sweet story can have a happy ending.  Attempts to identify Samantha and the soldier have not been successful so far.
