Dating Site “CanDoBetter” Lets Strangers Rate Your Date

How many times have we all heard ‘so-and-so can do so much better than him/her’? Now, if you can’t tell on your own, you can go to CanDoBetter.com and let some strangers tell you if your new crush is a perfect match, or whether one of you “can do better.”

All you’ll have to do is submit both a picture of your date and a picture of yourself, then leave it up to the masses. Site visitors will look at your photos and have the choice of three options: “She Can Do Better,” “He Can Do Better,” or “Perfect Match.”

The man behind the website, “relationship expert” Dr. J.D. Block says, “People on first dates are not looking for meaningful conversations, but are evaluating their date as a potential romantic partner.”

So I guess what Dr. Block is saying, is that his website should be used only to determine if your potential love match is hot enough to actually go out with, not whether they are compatible with you.

But are people actually going to do this? Would you actually cancel a date or stop seeing someone just because random strangers on the Internet told you that you were better looking than your suitor? I wouldn’t, but I tend to think of myself as NOT the most shallow person on earth, so to each his or her own. Besides, what if the voting turns out in their favor – what happens if voters say your date can do better than you? Would you then be forced to cancel out of consideration? Yikes!
