Dating Site Said No Love For You

Internet dating is often touted as a way for all sorts of singles to sync up. With lengthy questionaires and detailed personality tests, inboxes receive influxes of "compatible matches". But how would you feel if you hopped on the world wide web wagon and weren't welcomed as warmly? What if there was no online love for you?

Dealing with this sad cyber situation is Gayle Bryant, a writer for the Sydney Morning Herald. "I was rejected by an online dating site. Yes, you read that correctly - the site rejected me before I even got to the dating stage. I didn't even know this could happen," she wrote today.

Although she's been reluctant to try online dating ("I was quite happy making my own disastrous dating decisions in the offline world"), she was convinced by a friend to give it a go. Surprisingly, the site told her no.

"There are no compatible matches for you in our database. Please don't take this as a reflection of your personality. This happens from time to time. Good luck," said the email she received.

While she didn't mention which dating site rejected her, she wished she could find out why, much like you would when someone in the real world writes you off. What scientific calculations were used resulting in not one single match?

Gayle has gone back to dating the old fashioned way, but I wonder how many other singles have been determined undateable online. Have you?
