Bloggers beware! Professors of Ben-Gurion University in Israel have developed a program that identifies depressed people by analyzing their blogs.
The software looks at words, images, metaphors, and phrases that are used, then computes the results with a highly complex algorithm. A trial run has already shown an 80% match with actual psychologists' diagnoses.
Scientists want to use this method to systematically seek out the sad saps and send them to shrinks! Watch what you type! Your blog could be next!

First, there was the cuddle spray. Now there is a spray to help men battle premature ejaculation!
In a study conducted by researchers at the University of California, San Francisco, an experimental spray known as PSD502 helped subjects last five times longer in bed than men who took a placebo. PSD502 is a desensitizing drug that combines lidocaine and prilocain and works best when applied to the penis 5 minutes before sex. Men who used the spray reported feeling more satisfied with sex.
The findings were presented to the 2010 American Urological Association Annual Meeting in San Francisco. Approximately 30% of men between the ages of 15-59 suffer from premature ejaculation.

We've all heard about America's growing obesity problem, but some areas of the country are worse than others. Men's Health recently released their annual list of "America's Fattest Cities" and 5 Texas cities are among the top 10.
To determine the rankings, Men's Health calculated the percentage of people who are overweight, the percentage with type 2 diabetes, the percentage who haven't left the couch in a month (CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System); the money spent on junk food (Bureau of Labor Statistics); and finally, the number of people who ate fast food nine or more times in a month (Mediamark Research).
Here are America's Top 10 Fattest Cities:

Low self-esteem sucks. It makes you sad and certainly doesn't attract the ladies. Well now a new online dating study has determined more bad news about non-confident people.
California psychology professors conducted a study which measured how people with varying levels of self-esteem react to rejection. Not only were those with lower self-esteem (as determined by a questionnaire) more likely to negatively interpret rejecting events, but they also reacted physiologically by producing more stress hormones than people with higher levels of self-esteem.
They used online dating as the method for their research, with participants preparing for an online chat with an attractive person they perceived to be in the next room. But really, there was no one in the next room. Participants looked over a profile with a picture and bio of the other individual and were told that the other individual was viewing their picture and reading about them at the same time. But immediately before the online chat was supposed to begin, the researcher delivered the news that the other participant opted to leave the study.

Earlier this month, Men’s Health magazine released a list of the top 100 “drunkest cities” in America. To compile the rankings, the magazine considered death rates from alcoholic liver disease, the number of deaths caused by alcohol-related vehicle crashes, the frequency of binge-drinking, the number of DUI arrests, and the severity of each city’s DUI penalties.
Fresno, California tops the list with Reno, Nevada; Billings, Montana; Riverside, CA; and Austin, TX not trailing far behind. Here’s the full list in case you’re interested. Is your city full of drunkards?

Want to look and feel younger? While plastic surgery and cosmetic procedures like Botox are becoming more common among men, studies show they don't "take" as well as they do on women. Men have a different skin texture and less supple fat to play around with.
What to do? It's simple. Making these five lifestyle changes will keep you looking and feeling like a young stud!
Buy a bottle of sunblock
Your eyes begin to show the effects of age first. The best thing you can do for your skin is to wear sunblock with an SPF of at least 30, says Cameron Rokhsar, M.D., a dermatologist and laser surgeon. The best block is Anthelios; it's the only sunscreen that contains mexoryl, a powerful drug that protects your skin against UVA rays. But that's just the start. Exfoliation sppeds up skin cell turnover. Thankfully for us guys, it occurs naturally when we shave, and some comsmetic companies make exfoliating skincare lines for the rest of your face, too.

Some dating sites give endless personality tests. Others want to meet you in person and scrutinize everything from your tie to your breath.
Now, some are asking for a swab of spit. Some genetic testing companies are promising to match couples based on DNA testing, saying biological compatibility makes a good match.
ScientificMatch.com is one such company. It says bio-matching will translate into better sex, less cheating, more enduring love and perhaps even healthier children.
GenePartner, a Swiss company that works with matchmakers and dating sites, has tested more than 1,000 people, according to chief scientific officer Tamara Brown. Some were already coupled and took the test out of curiosity.
The GenePartner Test is $99, and will be offered at the Swiss dating site sense2love.com. The idea is that people tend to be attracted to those who have immune system genes that are dissimilar from their own.

Been dumped? Goping through a hard time with the old lady?
Love really does hurt, according to researchers.
New brain scanning technologies are revealing that the part of the brain that processes physical pain also deals with emotional pain. And in the same way that in some people injury can cause long-lasting chronic pain, science now reveals why some will never get over such heartbreak.
Emotional pain = physical pain
"If you listen to people who are damaged emotionally, they will often translate their pain into physical similes: 'My head is bursting, my guts are aching' and so on," says Professor David Alexander of the Aberdeen Centre for Trauma Research in Scotland. "The parallel is very strong."

Men who stew at being unfairly treated at work are up to five times more likely to suffer a heart attack and even die from one, than those who let their frustration show, a new study shows.
The study by the Stress Research Institute of Stockholm University (Sweden) followed 2,755 employed men from 1992 to 2003.
At the end of the study, 47 participants had either suffered an attack, or died from heart disease, and many of those had been found to be "covertly coping" with unfair treatment at work.
"There was a close-response relationship between covert coping and the risk of incident myocardial infarction or cardiac death," the study's authors wrote.
Covert coping os "letting things pass without saying anything" and "going away" despite feelings of being treated unfairly by colleagues or managers.
Guys who relied on these coping techniques had a two to fivefold higher risk of developing heart disease than those who were more confrontational at work, the study showed.
The study was published in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health.
Bottle up your anger at your peril, guys!

Macho men don't live as long as other guys (call them what you will).
Guys who play into rigid gender roles are less likely to see the doctor when they are sick, get regular check-ups, stress tests, colonoscopies, and the biggie, prostate exams.
A Rutgers University research team surveyed 1,000 middle-aged American men and asked them to rate their agreement with such macho beliefs as "When a husband and wife make decisions about buying major things for the home, the husband should have final say;" and "It bothers me when a man does something that I consider 'feminine.'"
