There’s No Such Thing as a Perfect Match

Thanks to the rise of dating websites, and the overwhelming amount of options they bring, more and more singles are holding out for that “perfect” match. However, a quest for perfection isn’t doing you any favors.

“People who attempt to make the 'perfect' choice, whether it comes to buying a car or finding a partner, end up less satisfied, regardless of what or who they choose. That’s because they tend to look for flaws, and become disillusioned with all of their options," said Andy Trees, Ph.D. and author of A Scientific Guide to Successful Dating.

Internet dating is often touted as a way for all sorts of singles to sync up. With lengthy questionaires and detailed personality tests, inboxes receive influxes of "compatible matches". Global Dating Requires Frequent Communication

International dating websites help singles around the world find love where they least expect it. The sites are exciting, they're fun, and they result in many long-lasting and happy marriages. However, what many people forget is that global dating requires frequent communication if it is to be successful. While busy work schedules, family commitments, and the tasks of day-to-day living can be distracting, a single must remain in touch with a long-distance love interest if he or she wants a promising relationship to progress.

At first, it’s easy to keep in touch with a special someone. There are plenty of things to talk about, the relationship is fresh and exciting, and the novelty of international dating has not yet worn off. Internet Dating Flirting Tips

Flirting in person is different from flirting online, but there are some common and simple ways to show your attraction and receive favorable responses. By implementing these 3 methods in your emails and chats, you may have more fun and more success with online dating.

Use Names Frequently

By using names frequently during chatting, you give the conversation a more personal feel and show that you are attentive and interested. You can even take it one step further and come up with cute and clever nicknames for your favorites.

Give Sincere Compliments

While most women love to receive attention and be noticed, men do too. Comment on their profile photos and give sincere compliments. If you are chatting via live video, try to notice differences such as a new hairstyle or an exceptional outfit. This makes people feel good and shows you care.

New Dating Site Unleashes Your Inner Rob Gordon

A new trend in online dating links up users who share very specific enthusiasms. For example, bookworks could meet n’ greet on Alikewise.com. But if you’re more High Fidelity than you are a pageturner, you’ll love Tastebuds.fm.

Tastebuds’ concept is simple: you list the music you like, and the site shows you a bunch of people whose tastes match yours.  The process of selecting a mate isn’t as difficult as one might imagine, as you have unlimited picks.

The problem, however, lies in whether you actually believe Rob Gordon (John Cusack’s character in High Fidelty) when he says that compatibility is less about what you’re like, and more about what you like.
